It is that time of the year once again for our own annual vacation in Menorca, it was on the plane to Menorca where I actually composed this short tale about staying in some Menorca apartments and our own good friends holidaying in some new Menorca villas just 220 metres away. This really is Fantastic.

The airplane had 3 rows of white plastic material seating, all with coordinated red soft cushions. The floor had reddish colored rugs extending right down to the steel walls at the front. The air hostess, dressed up in lilac, walked through a slim entrance, and also closed it right behind her.

The muffled sound effects from the engine drifted around the travellers, as the aircraft lumbered over the runway. Looking out of the small glass windows, high structures could be viewed, rising up on every side of the actual thin strip of dead turf. Thick clouds of greyish fog obscured every thing beyond the monolithic highrises of London. A few of the passengers, especially the more mature ones mainly, had dozed off already, jaws agape and a few droplets of spit occasionally. Children sat deathly still, either from concern about the aircraft, or even their parents who watched them like hawks.

One child started crying, and could be heard until his mom transported him in to the restroom in the back of the aircraft.

Time seemed to drag on, minutes becoming just like hours, until all at once, the very airliner broke through the greyish cover of haze and clouds. Right now, the window which in fact had produced such bleakness, offered a sublime viewpoint. Clear glowing blue skies, resting on a field of clouds. Wisps of cloud, upset by the plane, floated just like sheep, bobbing up and down in the open field. Wind rustled the surface and the thick wool of the lambs. All this was swept away as a school of brightly tinted wild birds swooped out from the ocean of clouds and dived back under, leaving plumes of cloud floating and gleaming in the blue.

A single bird leaped out of the clouds, and flew along with the airplane, it’s feathers moist and shiny. It glided riding on the jet’s current, before joining its family members within the swirling puzzle below the atmosphere. In the distance, an additional plane glided majestically over the sea of clouds, shimmering waves into the sun, leaving trails of outstanding grey in the pure white.

We are going to be experiencing certain difficult weather conditions passengers are encouraged to go back to their seats, announced the captain.

The purity of the white and blue was tainted with dark-colored clouds and also dull skies. The birds squawked, and then departed in a host of feathers. The woolly lambs grew to be rabid wolves, snarling and keeping pace with the airplane. The airplane shook, travel luggage which had been thrown to the floor, and the wind wolves howled desolately. There was a beat of thunder, a vibrant display of lightning, and some screams from within the airplane. When the lightning passed, the airplane was in the middle of the circulating dark-colored fog, where unusual shapes floated past the windows.

But the actual airplane did not stay in that underworld of fog for more than a flicker of an eye, and shortly it was flying towards the runway, straight down towards the uniform black and also grey. The airplane touched down, and the passengers headed out of the aircraft, one by one as a light grey drizzle poured down, on dark outfits, dark-colored umbrellas, of people heading off for their Menorca accommodation holidays this year.
